Immunosuppresive effects of sinomenine
Abstract
Sinomenine ip or im 25, 50,100 mg/kg markedly decreased the clearance rate of iv charcoal particles and the weights of spleen and thymus and inhibited the phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages. Sinomenine significantly decreased the ratio of cGMP/cAMP of plasma in mice. Sinomenine had depressant effects on humoral-mediated immunity using the hemolysins reaction as indices and cell-mediated immunity using the heart implantation and tumor-concomitant immunity as indices.
