Abstract

The chelating agent quinamic acid was first synthesized by the Department of Synthetic Chemistry of our institute. 113mIn-dium was tagged onto quinamic acid by dissolving quinamic acid in 5% NaHC03 and adding 113mInC13. Chromatography on Whatman No. 2 paper in NaCI showed Rr=0.9 for 113In-quinamic acid. while RF = 0.6 for 113mInC13. After iv 113mIn-quinamic acid 0.2 ml (2 mg, 50 VCi) to normal mice, the uptake of l13mln_qu inamic acid in bone was the highest. then kidney, blood, lung, liver, spleen, duodenum, heart, muscle and brain. The peak of the contents in tissues appeared at 0.5 h after iv. Considerable amounts remained in bone and kidney after 7 h. The bone/kidney organ radioactivities ratio were above 5. The bone/muscle ratio was 20 after 1 h. But l13mIn-quinamic acid and 113mInC13 were not accumulated in mice bearing sarcoma 180.
