Abstract

After iv [14C]cycleanine dimethoiodide (CDI) 22 VCi/kg in rats, the t1/2 in blood was 4 min. The radioactivity levels in kidney. lung and liver were much higher than those in heart, intestine. spleen and muscle. High levels were attained in 10-30 min. but the kidney kept a high level for 2 h. [14C]CDI bound to plasma protein, kidney and liver homogenates in vitro were 19, 49 and 38%, respectively. In 24 h after ip [14C]CDI II htCi/k9. 58% of the radioactivity was excreted in urine and 6% in feces. By thin layer chromatography (TLC) spotted by Dragendorff, TLC with autoradiography and paper chromatography with radio-scanning, it was found that [14C]CDI were excreted mainly in urine in the shape of the prototype.
