Hemodynamic effects of total alkaloids of uncalia macrophylla in anesthetized dogs
Abstract
In 12 anesthetized dogs, car-diac output was dined by an impe-dance cardiograph. Iv infusion of the to-tal alkaloids 20 mg/kg produced a moder-ate hypotension accompanied by a marked bradycardia. The cardiac output increased tempora-rily and then decressed slightly, whereas the stroke volume consistently elevated. The total peripheral resistance di-minished during initial hypotension. The possible cause of hypotensicii may be a reduction of both cardic oiitpit and peripheral resistance.
