Effects of anisodine on EEG power spectrum, frequency distribution and coherence in rats
Abstract
Anisodine is a new alkaloid isolated from Scopolia tangutica.The chemical structure and pharmacological action of anisodine are similar to those of scopolamine.This paper reports its effects on the EEG power spectrum, frequency distribution and coherence in rats by using the method of spectrum analysis. This remarkable effects of anisodine 5 mg/kg on the EEG in rats 30 min after ip were observed, such as the increases of total EEG power and the power of delta dominant frequency in EEG, the lower frequency component and the coherence values of theta and alpha frequencies.
