Abstract

Tremella polysaccharides(TP,100 mg/kg/d * 7 d, sc) elevated the clearance rate of iv charcoal particles in normal and immunosuppressive mice induced by cortisone acetate. It increased the production of hemolysin in mice immunized with SRBC.The same result was seen in the immunosuppressive mice caused by cyclophosphamide. There were no marked potentiating effects on delayed hypersensitivity reaction of skin induced by DNCB in normal guinea pigs, mice and immunosuppressed mice induced by cyclophosphamide. The same dose of TP showed no significant effect on the content of cytochrome P-450 in liver homogenate of normal mice, but antagonized the decrease of spleen weight and increase of the content of liver P-450 caused by cortisone acetate. At the dose of 200 mg/kg/d* 7 d. TP remarkably increased the weight of spleen, and reduced the content of P-450 in liver cytochrome.
