Abstract

Effects of haloperidol( HAL, 2 mg/kg, sc), chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZ,10 mg/kg,sc), metoclopramide hydrochloride(MCP,50 mg/kg,sc) and ascorbic acid( AA, 2 g/kg,ip) on salivation and lacrimation caused by adrenaline hydrochloride (1 mg/kg, ip) and noradrenaline bitartrate (4 mg/kg,ip) in mice at ambient temperature of 30 degrees were observed. HAL, CPZ AND AA inhibited adrenergic salivation but did not alter lacrimation significantly. MCP had no effect on adrenergic salivation but restored the inhibited adrenergic lacrimation.
