Mathematical study on characteristics of average steady-state for drugs obeying Michaelis-Menten elimination kinetics
Abstract
Some equation with regard to average plasma concentrations [1-4], and the time to reach steady-state [7] were derived. The relationship between the bioavailability and area under the plasm concentration-time curve, and the relationship between the average clearance and dose, were described. The parameters applied to clinical drug therapy and the method to estimate them were suggested [20-22], and the concept of “bioavailable efficiency” was introduced.
