Welcome to New Editorial Board Member!

We are pleased to welcome a new member to our Editorial Board: Prof. Ah-Ng Tony Kong from Rutgers University, who will act as the regional editor for North America. At the same time, I would like to thank Dr. Jean Sassard for his substantial contributions to our journal as the regional editor for Europe during his two-year local editorial tenure and wish he continues to undertake editorial responsibilities for Acta Pharmacologica Sinica.

Dr. Ah-Ng Tony Kong began his career at University of Alberta, as an undergraduate(1979-1983). From there, he went to State University of New York at Buffalo, where he majored in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism, and received his doctorate degree(1989) followed by Post-Doctoral fellowship training in Developmental Pharmacology and Cell Biology and Metabolism with Dr. Daniel W. Nebert and Drs. Lawrence E. Samelson and Richard D. Klausner in National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland(1989-1991). After nearly 5 years on Director, Laboratory of Investigative Medicine, Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University(1991-1995) and another 5 years in Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacodynamics, College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago(1995-2001), Dr. Kong went to Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2002, where he now is Director of Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Science, Associate Director of Center for Cancer Prevention Research, Chair of Pharmacy Honors Program Committee, and Professor of Pharmaceutics, Department of Pharmaceutics, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Now Dr. Kong focuses on Prevention of Diseases including Cancer by Dietary Phytochemicals (signaling, gene expression and in vivo pharmacological effects); Pharmacogenomics and toxicogenomics of cancer chemopreventive compounds, MAP Kinases/Nrf2 transcription factor-mediated gene expression, and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodyanmics of drug action. Dr. Kong published more than 100 articles in international journals, including TIPS, Cancer Res, Mol Carcinog, Oncogene, JBC. We are looking forward to publishing many valuable articles under the support from Dr. Kong.
