N2  - In the present study, we found that a novel alpha 1-adrenergic receptor subtype existed in rat heart by radioligand binding assay. This new alpha 1-adrenergic receptor subtype was different from alpha 1A-, alpha 1B-, alpha 1C-, and alpha 1D-subtypes reported recently. It had high affinity for WB4101, as the same of alpha 1A-subtype, but low affinity for 5-methyl-urapidil, and was insensitive to chlorethylclonidine.
