Besides, ascorbic acid 300 mg/kg iv decreased TPR in open-chest rabbits in experimental acute heart failure. All the results suggest that iv ascorbic acid increases cardiac contractility and improves cardiac functions, especially during heart failure. UR - http://www.chinaphar.com/article/view/5151
